The Hawthorns Northampton Presents Junior Bursary to Luis at NCGC
The Hawthorns Northampton were delighted to present Junior Vice Captain Luis Witherall at Northamptonshire County Golf Club (NCGC) with the inaugural Junior Bursary for this year.
Luis, who is 15 years of age, won last year’s prestigious County Cup and has been appointed as this year’s Junior Vice Captain for the NCGC. The bursary will be used to support Luis playing in national and regional competitions, along with his ongoing golfing development.
Sandra Stark, Managing Director of The Hawthorns Group, and David Seward, General Manager at The Hawthorns Northampton, arrived at the NCGC to present Luis with the cheque and hear more about his sporting achievements.

Club Manager Elaine McBride said “We are delighted that Luis has been selected as the recipient of the Hawthorns Junior Golf Bursary. Having been selected for the England Regional squad last year he has gone from strength to strength reducing his handicap to 0.9. Luis is a great ambassador for junior golf and we are very proud to have him as a member of NCGC”.
David Seward commented, “Being involved in our local community is an important part of life at The Hawthorns and we are very proud to have given this Junior Bursary to Luis and we are all rooting for his success. Luis will even have his own board in the Club House at The Hawthorns Northampton where our residents can keep up to date with his progress.”
