The Hawthorns Clevedon donate £2500 to Curzon Cinema
The Hawthorns in Clevedon have recently donated £2500 to their local cinema in Clevedon. This money will go towards the Curzon Cinema’s £600,000 roof appeal to save the cinema from closing.
General Manager, Tim Somer and residents visited the cinema to hand over the donation.
Tim Somer commented, “I’m so thrilled that The Hawthorns have been able to support and help such a great Clevedon institution with their roof appeal. We have a great partnership with The Curzon and will continue to support where we can. We all need to do our bit in the local community to ensure we raise enough money so they get the brand-new roof they so badly need.”
The Hawthorns Clevedon has previously supported the Curzon Cinema at local fundraising events, such as the recent “Wallace and Gromit” event in November where we supplied canapes.
It will cost the Curzon £600,000 to complete their roof restoration, but they still need £203,000 to reach their target.
Karen Edgington, Fundraising Manager for the Curzon cinema explained, “There is a huge amount of love for the Curzon locally and we are so grateful to the community and businesses in the area. This generous donation from The Hawthorns has brought the total raised from the local community to £72,000 and incredibly close to the £400,000 milestone for the project. Our heartfelt thanks go to The Hawthorns for their wonderful support.”
