The Hawthorns Braintree Holds Festive Christmas Card Competition
As the festive season approached, the Hawthorns Braintree held a Christmas card competition and invited local schools to take part. Residents had the opportunity to choose their favourite artwork, and the winner was Ella Skinner, aged 10, from Notley Green Primary School.
Ella won a £25 National book token and the school received £250 from the Avery Healthcare Group. Ella really likes art and reading and can’t wait to buy some new books with her prize; she was very surprised and happy to win. Deputy Headteacher, Jenni Colebrook was presented with the money from General Managers, Paul and Sandra Tripney and stated the money will be spent on wet play boxes for each class; this will allow the students to have a range of activities to do when the weather is bad, and they can’t play outside.
The prizes were presented to Ella and Jenni after the school choir entertained the residents and guests with their Christmas songs, which was very much enjoyed by all.
