The Hawthorns Clevedon Celebrates ‘Taste of Somerset’ with Community Spirit
In North Somerset, the Hawthorns Clevedon hosted an extraordinary “Taste of Somerset” celebration, bringing together residents, families, friends, and the local community.
The unique retirement community, part of the Avery Healthcare Group, offers elegant independent living with comprehensive support as and when residents need it.
The Taste of Somerset event was a huge success, with over 300 guests attending to relax on bales of hay, sip cider in the sun, and enjoy the stunning setting of the Hawthorns Clevedon grounds at Clevedon Seafront.
The event started with a welcoming toast of prosecco, Cheddar strawberries, and apple and elderflower fizz. The beautiful performances of the Miscellany Choir enhanced the atmosphere, which serenaded attendees with local Somerset songs, setting the perfect tone for the day.
The celebration continued with a sumptuous alfresco BBQ lunch, expertly prepared by the Hawthorns Clevedon Culinary Team, followed by traditional ice cream from a local vendor.
Attendees also indulged in a variety of local Somerset cheeses, apples, and local ciders, highlighting the rich flavours of the region.
Adding to the festivities, guest stallholders showcased a range of Somerset products, and volunteers from Clevedon Care were warmly welcomed. The Barnacle Buoys entertained with their enchanting sea shanties, creating a spirited and enjoyable atmosphere.

“The Somerset food and drinks were outstanding, we had fabulous local live music in spectacular setting of Clevedon seafront, and the weather was perfect!
