All Aboard at the Hawthorns Northampton
On Friday 11th August, residents of the Hawthorns Northampton received a special visit from the Northampton Transport Heritage Company to surprise them with an original Crossley vintage bus. General Manager Sarah-Lou arranged the visit as a surprise for residents to bring back memories; for many, it did. Resident Janet said, “Thank you so much for organising a wonderful experience for me Sarah-Lou. It was just a joy to sit on the top deck of a bus again.”
Residents were greeted by the bus conductor and driver with original tickets, and off they went for an hour’s drive around the picturesque Northamptonshire countryside. Resident Pam Johnson particularly enjoyed this treat. From her younger years as a bus driver, she has a particular fondness for vintage buses, and this experience was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Pam said, “It made me so happy and brought such wonderful memories back to me – I am now joining the Northampton Heritage Transport Company to support them at open day events where I can, and this is just a joy.”
