Green-fingered Residents at the Hawthorns Clevedon
As long-time supporters of Clevedon Pier, residents and staff at the Hawthorns Clevedon are delighted to support the Pier in any way they can. Over the years, residents have been among the most frequent visitors to the pier and have spent much time enjoying the views and contributing to the beauty of this historical landmark.
The Hawthorns Clevedon offers a wealth of activities that support the physical, social, and psychological well-being of its residents. There really is something for everyone, irrespective of their age, health, or background. This month, residents have combined the pleasures of gardening and volunteering, planting flowers at the Clevedon Pier whilst soaking up the sunshine. It is well known that being outdoors in the fresh air and sunlight, among plants and trees, is hugely beneficial. Studies have shown a significant reduction in depression and anxiety and improved socialisation. Surveys suggest that, as we get older, gardening becomes much more important for our personal identity, independence and reducing loneliness.
