Head Chef Sprints to Success in Brighton Marathon for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity

Grant Burton, our dedicated Head Chef at The Hawthorns Braintree, recently participated in the Brighton Marathon to raise crucial funds for our Charity of the Year, the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

With immense dedication and perseverance, Grant not only completed the challenging marathon but also successfully raised an impressive £310.40. This substantial contribution brings The Hawthorns Braintree’s total fundraising efforts close to £2,000, significantly aiding the charity’s mission to support families with seriously ill children.

The Brighton Marathon, known for its demanding course with numerous hills and often harsh weather conditions, tested Grant’s physical and mental endurance. Despite these challenges, Grant managed to complete the race in under four hours, a commendable achievement that highlights his dedication and athleticism.

His journey through the marathon was driven by a profound commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of families supported by the Rainbow Trust.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Grant expressed his elation, stating, “I’m over the moon to get under four hours and to raise money for such a great charity. It was a tough course with the hills and wind against us, but it was amazing to finish. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me.”

The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides essential support to families with seriously ill children, offering both emotional and practical assistance during some of their most challenging times.

We are incredibly proud of Grant’s achievement and his unwavering commitment to the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported Grant and the charity, and we look forward to The Hawthorns Braintree continuing their fundraising efforts throughout the year.
