Seaside Romance at The Hawthorns Clevedon
Romance at The Hawthorns independent retirement living community in Clevedon, on the Somerset coast, has blossomed since Lois Greeves and Jeremy Spratt met there in August of 2017. Former Nursing Manager of a residential care home, Lois has lived on the 4th floor at The Hawthorns since 2008, and in 2017 an apartment next door became vacant; this was quickly occupied by Jeremy, who is a retired dairy farmer from Alveston in South Gloucestershire.
Lois and Jeremy’s first date consisted of Lois inviting Jeremy to watch the cricket (as she had Sky Sports channels on her TV) over a glass of wine or two, and it all went from there. Now Lois and Jeremy are kindred spirits and are very much in love. To recognise that meeting as special, Jeremy later proposed in the building and was delighted when Lois accepted.
The customer service team at The Hawthorns organised a pre-wedding shoot with professional photographer Peter J Nicholls to help celebrate this special occasion, and the images shown here are just some of the lovely pictures of Lois and Jeremy that are there for all to see on the Hawthorns Clevedon Facebook page, that they would like to share with us all.
The wedding took place on the 18th of October at St. Mary’s Church in Clevedon with immediate family and friends attending; Lois’ two daughters and three grandchildren, plus her two brothers and their respective wives. From Jeremy’s side were his nephew and his wife plus their two children, and his niece and partner, along with three cousins.
This is the first time that there has been a wedding of residents at The Hawthorns in Clevedon, and the other residents were very pleased for the happy couple, with many sending cards of congratulations. The reception was held at the Walton Park Hotel in Clevedon, overlooking the Bristol Channel, although the head chef from The Hawthorns provided the fabulous wedding cake. The happy couple chose to spend their honeymoon at The Hawthorns, and all the staff team there wished them massive congratulations and many happy years together.
