The Hawthorns Eastbourne Spreads Festive Cheer with a Christmas Card Competition
As the festive season approaches, staff and residents at the Hawthorns Eastbourne were delighted to launch a Christmas Card Competition, inviting students at local school, Langney Primary Academy, to design their own cards. After receiving a beautiful selection of designs, staff and residents came together to select the winning Christmas card created by Ferne in the Mayflower Class.
Ian Turnbull, General Manager at the Hawthorns Eastbourne, visited Langney Primary Academy to present Ferne with the winner’s prize – a book token. The school also received a £250 donation from the Hawthorns Eastbourne on behalf of the Avery Healthcare group as a thank you for taking part.
Across the Hawthorns, we are proud to build strong community links, including with young people. Research suggests intergenerational interactions can increase well-being and improve children’s social and emotional skills. Speaking of the Christmas Card Competition, General Manager Ian stated, “We were amazed by the number of entries we received; each one was worthy of being a winner. We were delighted to attend a school assembly to present Ferne with her prize. Well done to everyone who took part!”
