“There comes a time in your life when changes in lifestyle and circumstances enforce a change of direction.

You think that being in your own home with your husband or partner, with facilities in place to ease the ageing process, is what the future will be. But a whole new picture appears when those circumstances start to change.

After discussions about down-sizing and moving closer to family, the decision was made to try something very different and one I didn’t even know existed. I spent one month sampling the lifestyle at The Hawthorns with little expectation that this would be my choice for the future, but by the end of that time, I was completely converted.

Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was so impressed with the care and attention given to every aspect. The management and staff cannot do enough to make this a great experience – the entertainment and activities, menus, housekeeping and maintenance all contribute to luxury living. There is always a member of staff to advise or assist with absolutely anything. The surroundings inside and out are exceptional.

Perhaps the greatest benefits are having my independence and the freedom to live my life the way that I wish, but having support and friendship at hand. So many pressures and cares have been lifted.

So why wait? It is a big step to take, but I wish as a couple, we had known The Hawthorns experience was here much sooner.”
